Arvid Carlsson (25 January 1923 – 29 June 2018) was a Swedish neuropharmacologist. He was best known for his work with the neurotransmitter dopamine and its effects on Parkinson's disease. He won the Wolf Prize in Medicine in 1979. For his work on dopamine, Carlsson was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2000.
